Overview


The Radiology Department provides a full range of general and special radiological procedures on both outpatient and in-patient basis which are performed by board-certified radiologists and radiologic technologists. The department is dedicated to ensure that diagnostic examinations and treatment are precise, accurate, and of the highest quality.

The Radiology Department Offers the Following Services:

General Radiography (x-ray)
Unihealth-Baypointe Hospital and Medical Center is using a computed radiography with PACS system modality, whereby films can be read, sent and diagnosed in any part of the world using internet. Offering 24-hour basic and special procedure, C-Arm with fluoroscopy bedside and portable radiography to suit the radiologic, cardiovascular, surgery and gynecologic examinations.

Computed Tomography (CT scan)
U-BHMC offers a wide range of CT procedures through our dual slice, multi-detector CT scan machine capable for doing CT andiogram, Triphasic protocols and bone reconstruction.

Ultrasound
U-BHMC meets the needs of patients for ultrasound of different body parts. With our highly skilled radiologist-sonologists and OB-GYN-sonologists, soft tissue structures in the body can be visualized through this procedure in real time. We also offer 4D ultrasound to analyze the development of an unborn child of expecting mothers.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a method of obtaining detailed pictures, or images, of internal body structures without the use of radiation or radioactive substances of any kind.MRI reduces the need for biopsies, exploratory surgery and other associated diagnostic procedures that carry associated risks. The UBHMC MRI is open on all four sides so you will not feel confined. This design helps meet the needs of all patients - children, seniors, oversized persons, and those who suffer from the anxiety of confined spaces. It is spacious enough for a child to be imaged with a parent or guardian lying alongside for comfort and support.

Mammogram
Is a specific type of imaging that are used as screening tool and it plays a central part in early detection of breast diseases or cancers in woman experiencing with symptoms such as lump, pain or nipple discharge.

Nuclear Medicine (NucMed)
Is a medical imaging that uses a small amount of radiotracers or radiopharmaceuticals to diagnose and to treat diseases specifically Radioactive Iodine Thyroid uptake determination and Radioactive Iodine Therapy.
